The Festival of Whales is coming up on March 4-5 and March 11-12, 2017. This festival is packed with fun activities for the whole family: a great parade, kid’s free fishing clinic, kids’ carnival, sand sculpting workshops, movie in the park, performances, art in the park.

Let me tell you what we normally do at this event. We always go on the first day of the festival so we don’t miss the parade at 10am. I love this parade because it is super fun for the kids, it is not overcrowded, and it is free. After the parade we check out the street fair and then head to the Ocean Institute which always has tons of hands-on activities for the kids. Then we walk to the Baby Beach and have a picnic while watching the sand sculpting competition.

You should know that if you get there late you might have to take the parking shuttles. But for the last three years, I have always found parking and this outing has always been stress free and very successful!
