We visited as guest of Knott’s Berry Farm
Fun Bun_Boysenberry Dessert Flautas_Boysenberry BBQ Wings_Boysenberry Pie

Spring is here and the Knott’s Berry Farm’s Boysenberry Festival is bursting at the seams with exquisite boysenberry treats, family entertainment, gourmet food and a wine and craft brew tasting garden. The festival only lasts until April 3rd, so don’t miss out!

Boysenberry Festival Tasting Card

One of the best ways to experience the Boysenberry Festival is with a Boysenberry Bites Tasting Card.  For $25, the tasting card includes generous portions of six tasty treats. We mostly stuck to the tasting card, and everything we tried was really good. I’d recommend getting at least one tasting card so your family can try those six dishes.

Boysenberry FlautasBoysenberry Dessert Flautas were the best dish of the day. Flaky fried tubes with berries bursting out of both ends and topped with powdered sugar – they were pretty too.

BBQ Chicken WingsSpicy BBQ Chicken Wings – I’m not normally a fan of wings, but these were meaty and the sauce was delicious.

Fried Alligator Bites with Fries & Boysenberry Aioli – I didn’t actually get to try these because the line was long, but everyone I asked said they were delicious. I’m including them because they seemed to be one of the most popular dishes based on the number of people were willing to wait for them.

Panna CottaBoysenberry Panna Cotta with Almond Crumble – this was custardy, creamy, and berrylicious.

BBQ MeatballsBoysenberry BBQ Meatballs – three good-sized meatballs covered in sweet and spicy sauce. My seven-year-old ate two and gave them a big thumbs up. I liked them too.

Wine and Craft Brew Garden

The Wine and Craft Brew Garden offers 4 craft brews and over 50 different wines from 36 producers including boysenberry beer and boysenberry wine. For $25, you get 6 tastings and a generous fruit, cheese and cracker plate, which was quickly eaten by my kids. Kids will also like the boysenberry lemonade, which seemed to be included in the price of the tasting card.

Also, I saw several people walk by with tasty-looking dishes that were not on the tasting card, including boysenberry funnel cake, turkey legs and corn on the cob, so you can try those too, but you have to buy them separately.

While you’re there, you can also check out the interactive pie making experience, stage shows, and as always Camp Snoopy, rides and more.

In conclusion, if you like boysenberries, then this festival is not to be missed.
