Halloween at OC Zoo

Maruska —  October 26, 2017

Halloween Zootacular at the OC ZooAnother fantastic Halloween activity for Saturday, October 28th, 2017, the Halloween Zoo-tacular at the OC Zoo.

I love the OC Zoo, you can see black bears, mountain lions, bald eagles, foxes, red-tailed hawks, owls, coyotes and more. They also have a great petting zoo where you can brush goats and sheep.

During this event, you can watch many of these animals receive treat-filled pumpkins. Your kids will also have fun with trick-or-treating, spooky crafts, a scavenger hunt and face painting. The first 100 kids to arrive in costume receive a special holiday treat. Did I mention that the OC Zoo is only $2 (ages 2 and under are free)? Parking is $5. Great event, I have been many times and I totally recommend it.

Where to donate candy in Orange County

Are you worried about all the candy your kids are going to get next week? Here is a solution. Donate the candy to local charities or the troops oversees and in return get $1 per pound of candy or other creative exchanges such as toothbrushes, coupons, products, and more. This always works with my boy. He would give up anything for a couple of dollars.

Where to bring the candy:

A. Bring the candy to one of the dentist offices listed on and they will send it to the troops overseas. You might want to contact them ahead of time to get all the information since they all have different buy back rules.

B. Bring your candy to Wahoo’s Fish Taco and receive a free kid’s meal. Kid’s 12 and under, parent must be present. Nov 1-5.

C. Bring your unopened and unwanted Halloween candy to Boomers! They are gathering it to send to our men and women in uniform. This nationwide operation also accepts new, unused toothbrushes and toothpaste. Nov 1 -5

Happy Halloween everyone!
